Renovating an old roof in the center of Tampere

This roof in the middle of Tampere was having issues with delamination and failing seams which were allowing water beneath the roof’s surface. We proposed to refasten the old material to the roof and coat over it with Lava 20, this would prevent the need to for an intensive tear off and disposal process and still give the roof a new life.  

After cleaning, unbonded and damaged areas of the original roof were resecured to ensure a stable structure for coating over.

Low roof penetrations were adjusted to match current building standards and waterproofed with reinforced Lava Detail 20 along with all pipes and weak points. 

The entire surface was primed, after which the Lava 20 system was installed according to specifications for a 25-year material warranty. 

As a finishing touch, metal covers for vents and access hatches were coated with brown Topcoat to give a clean and long-lasting aesthetic finish.

The new roof has a clean finish and because of its exceptional durability, it will provide long term security for the building.
